EcoSensors System: Distributed sensor network with decision support (DSS) for precision agriculture
EcoSensors System is the distributed sensor network with decision support system (DSS), a project developed by Syde for Tecnovite.
Patented solution

In a context where attention to organic practices and environmental sustainability is increasingly growing, it becomes necessary to develop solutions for agricultural companies that enable their effective development.
In 2017, as part of the co-financing program Value for Innovation,Syde launched a project Tecnovite that led to the development of EcoSensors Systema distributed sensor network with decision support system (DSS) for precision agriculture.
Without the need for power supply
No connection issues, with a range of up to 10-15 km
It works wirelessly
Sensor for pest detection
What is EcoSensors System?
EcoSensors System is a widespread sensor network designed for Agriculture 4.0, enabling extensive deployment of sensors. Thanks to EcoSensors System, it is possible to remotely analyze the micro-dynamics of the vineyard through the monitoring of various data points and the creation of an accurate and comprehensive overview.
With EcoSensors System, you gain full control and the ability to analyze variability in vineyard vigor, allowing you to quickly and precisely manage any critical issues, saving time and resources.
EcoSensors System is the solution developed and refined also through direct collaboration with agronomists and viticulturists.
Testato, brevettato, è già efficacemente in uso in varie vigne toscane
The IoT system for agriculture that is easy to install and easy to use.
Does the vineyard staff have basic training? To install and use EcoSensors System, that is more than enough. EcoSensors System is an easy-to-install and easy-to-use sensor system, thanks to its user-centered design. Anyone can install the sensors completely independentlyby following the included usage and assembly instructions.
The collected data is secure, stored in SydeCloud and presented in their standard format. The user interface is intuitive and flexible, allowing consultation, analysis, and export (including automatic export according to the desired frequency).
You can view data in the standard format and graphs, set warning alertsall with ease and tailored to the specific needs of the user.
Customizable and Expandable
With EcoSensors System, you can start with a few types of sensors and expand the system at any time choosing which data to measure. The system is modular and fully customizable to adapt to the specific needs of each vineyard owner.
The system is configured with a unit equipped with a data transmission module supporting various transmission methods (such as WiFi, 4G, Sigfox, and others), to which a set of sensors can be connected, collecting different types of data:
- Air temperature (basic configuration)
- Air humidity (basic configuration)
- eCO22_VOC – Volatile Organic Compounds (basic configuration)
- Atmospheric pressure (basic configuration)
- Fine particulate matter – PM10/PM2.5 (Code 001_01)
- Presence of pests (Code 001_02)
- Leaf wetness (Code 001_03)
- Rain gauge (Code 001_04)
- Anemometer (Code 001_05)
- High precision CO2 2 (Code 002)
- Others according to specific needs...
Once collected, the data is transmitted to Syde’s proprietary Cloudwhere users can access it for processing, analysis, and export as needed. Consistent with all Decision Support Systems (DSS)the user interface is easy to use and flexible, in an interactive environment with tools for data analysis.
What is precision agriculture?
L’Precision agriculture (or “surgical agriculture”)is a management strategy for agricultural production is a management strategy for agricultural production that allows the collection, processing, and analysis of useful data which, combined with other information, enables operational decisions based on changing external conditions (such as rain or wind).
In this way, a farm can improve efficiency regarding resource use, productivity, quality, and environmental sustainability of agricultural production.
Precision agriculture aims to optimize production by using modern instruments to monitor local environmental conditions, including climate, air, soil, and the plants themselves, to activate timely corrective actions that can be automated (e.g., irrigation) or alert personnel in advance to perform necessary interventions.
