The TMD Relief is an innovative medical device that clearly stands out from what is already available on the market. As the result of a long and careful product development process, the TMD Relief was also born from analyzing the weaknesses of other devices with the same purpose, aiming to overcome them to create a better product both therapeutically and functionally, as well as in terms of accessibility. The main advantage of the TMD Relief lies in its ability to be fully adjustable and therefore adapt to the morphology and therapeutic needs of the user. Thanks to important innovative solutions applied during the design and production phases, the TMD Relief can be manufactured by reducing production costs without compromising quality. This translates into a product with a contained final price, as accessibility is one of its strengths, but with high performance, comparable to what one would expect from a custom-made device. In the past, devices to reduce muscle tension and alleviate temporomandibular joint symptoms have been proposed; these are almost exclusively individual devices made by dentists and classified as bites or occlusal splints, which do not have specific manufacturing guidelines but are created and managed under clinical and/or instrumental control. In contrast to these devices, industrial devices have been proposed with the purpose of stretching the mandibular muscles with a unique mechanism for each, but with a single goal: to generate muscle relaxation without the need for expensive specialist therapies. The TMD Relief is therefore a device capable of adapting to the user's morphology thanks to its modularity and full adjustability, allowing guided mandibular stretching exercises with positive effects for the treatment of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) or TMJ disorders. Results are generally noticeable after about ten days of use, including pain relief. Once adjusted, the upper and lower dental arches will be perfectly aligned with respect to the silicone ends of the device, and the distance between the two ends will correspond to the non-painful, non-forced opening capacity of the mouth. The exercise is simple: an active and voluntary mouth closing followed by a passive reopening (the device will reopen the mouth), repeated for two minutes. This guided stretching exercise of the mandibular muscles relaxes and simultaneously tones the muscles, with evident positive effects related to the treatment of temporomandibular disorders and the mouth's opening capacity. The TMD Relief lasts over time and ensures its functionality according to the progress made through exercise. As the mouth opening capacity improves, the device simply needs to be readjusted to continue benefiting from it.Exercise Cycle
Only 10 minutes of exercise per day (in 2-minute cycles) are sufficient for the TMD Relief to perform two fundamental therapeutic actions: re-educate the bite and relax the muscles, mimicking temporomandibular physiotherapy manipulations performed by a healthcare professional. Based on tests conducted, the best results are obtained with a therapy repeated twice a year lasting one month each time (a total of two months per year). The use of TMD Relief is planned every day during each of the two therapy months, for 10 minutes daily (carried out in 5 cycles of 2 minutes spaced throughout the day). It is recommended to have one session per week at the dentist's or doctor's office to verify progress and adjust the medical device. – Sto avendo benefici usando TDM Relief, rilassando i muscoli della mandibola che ho in tensione in questo periodo
– l’uso non è molto faticoso e non è difficile da imparare
Aspetti migliorabili:
– non è molto facile capire come regolare le piccole viti in base all’effetto che si vuole ottenere. Potrebbe essere spiegato meglio, forse con qualche esempio facilmente comprensibile.
– l’impegno per mantenere pulito e disinfettato l’apparecchio è notevole, considerando il fatto che va utilizzato più volte al giorno.
Forse una custodia su misura potrebbe facilitare nel mantenerlo pulito.
